The art of great aquavit

Aquavit has long traditions in Trøndelag that stretch back several hundred years. Svein Berfjord from Inderøy Distillery and Eivind Steiro Berg-Hanssen from ØX Tap Room and Distillery place great emphasis on using local ingredients in their production, and on continuing the long and proud tradition of aquavit production in Trondheim.

During the course, they will tell you about their production processes, the craftsmanship behind their products, and their unique stories. How do they work, and what does it take to create an award-winning Trøndelag aquavit?

There will be a tasting of four exciting aquavits inspired by and from Trøndelag. Join us for a unique experience at the Trøndelag Food Festival!

About the instructor

Svein Berfjord, also known as “the aquavit farmer,” is a distiller at Inderøy Distillery and Berg Farm, which he runs together with his wife Kirsti in Inderøy, Trøndelag. He bottled his first aquavit in 2016 and has since received a number of award-winning aquavits.

Eivind Steiro Berg-Hanssen is head distiller at ØX Tap Room and has extensive expertise in the field. With a deep passion for exceptional flavours, he will, together with Svein, guide you through an aquavit tasting and the craftsmanship behind these fine spirits.
