Oi! Mat og drikke aims to further develop Trøndelag as Norway’s most exciting food region, creating added flavor and value locally, nationally, and internationally. Oi! seeks to contribute to increased value creation within the food sector, based on the ingredients and culture of the Trøndelag region. Recruitment, development, networking, and promotion are key elements that define our daily work.
Oi! bygger en sterk matregion
Oi!’s vision is for our activities and projects to “create added flavor and value.” For example, issues highlighted through Green Research (Grønn Forskning) are intended to increase profitability for farmers in Central Norway. Exhibitors at the Trøndelag Food Festival will gain the country’s best sales platform for their products and culinary experiences. Oi!’s projects and activities are designed to generate added value, creating greater satisfaction and opportunities for our customers and partners. Our work and employees are guided by the values: be neutral, build trust, create opportunities, lift others, and deliver results.
Oi! remains neutral, with no ties to researchers, funders, or any other parties that could compromise impartiality — a principle especially important in projects like Green Research. Through our work and relationships, we establish trust that projects are executed according to plan and deliver expected outcomes. All Oi! activities and projects are rooted in the Trøndelag Food Manifesto and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, putting sustainability into practice.
Non-profit
Oi! Trøndersk Mat og Drikke AS is a non-profit company established in 2005. This means that any surplus is not distributed to the owners but is reinvested in the organization through strengthened equity. The company has 100 owners, including farmers, local food producers, public partners, businesses, cooperatives, and the tourism sector in the region.
The largest owners are Trøndelag fylkeskommune, followed by NTNU, Tine AS, Nortura AS, Trondheim kommune, Grilstad AS, Stiftelsen Sparebank 1 SMN Utvikling, Sør-Trøndelag landbruksselskap and Felleskjøpet Agri. In addition, Oi! is owned by many small shareholders representing local food producers, restaurants, hotels, and organizations connected to Trøndelag’s food and drink production.
